Cutaneous manifestations observed in patients with COVID-19: diagnosis and prognosis of the disease, an evidence-based review

The severe acute respiratory syndrome caused by the coronavirus has affected the world since March 2020. There are several symptoms observed in people infected with the new virus. The most common symptoms are fever, dry cough, tiredness. In addition to these, other less common symptoms are also being observed clinically. We will address the most specific dermatological lesions found at work. The interest in understanding the cutaneous manifestations in infected patients has been the subject of several studies due to the frequency observed in several places around the world. The objective of this work is to verify the dermatological findings observed in patients with COVID and to identify the cutaneous manifestations found that can facilitate in the diagnosis and prognosis of the disease. A bibliographic search was carried out in the PUBMED and Web of Science databases, using different combinations of the descriptors: "COVID-19", "skin", "skin manifestations", "rash", "skin lesion", "diagnosis" and "prognosis". The results found can assist in the diagnosis and prognosis of the disease.
