Impact of nurses' interventions on the prevention of pressure injury in the intensive care unit

Objective: To describe nurses' interventions in the prevention of pressure injuries and their occurrences in intensive care units. Methods: An integrative review of the scientific literature was carried out, summarizing the results obtained. Studies published in full, indexed in the databases Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS), MEDlars online (MedLine) and Virtual Health Library (VHL), with a time frame of 2017 until 2022. Results: it was generally observed that the lack of technical and theoretical knowledge of nursing professionals is associated with the high number of injuries. Conclusion: The findings indicate that it is extremely important to train the nursing team to reduce the high rates of pressure injuries and improve the quality of care.
