Introduction: Discussions about patient safety in hospital units are a worldwide trend and have often been addressed. The aim of this study was to record the occurrence of adverse events related to health care among immunosuppressed patients admitted to a reference hospital in infectology in Amazonas. Methodology: This was a retrospective, descriptive study with a quantitative approach to the collection of variables existing in the database of the CCIH and the Patient Safety Commission. Results: Twelve months of adverse events involving 17 hospitalized patients were reported in 12 months, of which 2% was considered a serious event and the health professionals who most reported adverse events involving hospitalized patients were nurses (48%). Conclusion: There must be a critical and investigative look at the failures, in order to point out gaps that need to be addressed to benefit not only the team, but mainly the client.
