Abstract

Objective: to estimate the prevalence of the risk of pressure injury, identify the associated factors and establish a prediction model for its development in patients treated by a home care program. Method: this is a cross-sectional study, carried out between June 2017 and January 2018, with 131 patients treated by the Best at Home Program in a city in the north of Minas Gerais. With the aid of an instrument, socioeconomic, demographic and clinical data were collected. Descriptive, bivariate analysis and robust and adjusted Poisson regression were performed. Results: of the 131 patients, 76.3% were at risk for pressure injury. The independent variables that had a significant and joint impact on the risk of pressure injury were: "limitation", "report of impaired memory", "incontinence", "sacral injury" and "bone prominence". Conclusion: the risk of pressure injury is a common finding in home care patients and care for its prevention must be established.
